Jim Mitchell

Jim has served the banking industry for more than 31 years, with nearly 20 of those years in the Greater Seattle area. A native of Poulsbo, Washington, he received his BA from Seattle University and his MBA from the University of Washington, then went on to earn a JD from Southwestern University School of Law in LA. Jim left Sterling Savings Bank as SVP & Manager of the Seattle Corporate Banking office to establish Puget Sound Bank. His prior experience included serving as SVP at US Bank in Seattle for 12 years and managing corporate banking and commercial banking teams with Security Pacific Bank over a 13-year period. Jim has served on boards for various local organizations involved in healthcare, the arts and education. He currently serves on the boards of the Albers School of Business at Seattle University and the Washington Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Sean Brennan

Sean P. Brennan was one of the original organizers of Puget Sound Bank. After obtaining his bachelor degree in Finance from Loyola Marymount University in 1984, Mr. Brennan began his professional career at Arthur Andersen & Co. in Los Angeles, CA. Mr. Brennan returned to his home state of Washington in 1987 and served fourteen years as Vice President for U.S. Bank’s Commercial Banking Group. In 2000, Mr. Brennan joined Washington Trust Bank and helped lead the successful development of a newly formed commercial and private banking office in Seattle. In 2005, Mr. Brennan partnered with former bank colleagues, James Mitchell and Tony Chalfant, to form Puget Sound Bank. He has had the privilege of managing an experienced team of commercial and private bankers that have leveraged their strong community ties to foster consultative client relationships. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Mr. Brennan has been a member of Seattle University’s Planned Giving Committee since 2007. He has been involved with the St. Joseph School Endowment Board since 2005 serving in various capacities, including the Executive Committee. His family is involved with raising funds for both
Recovery Café and
Agros International.
Tony Chalfant

Tony began his career as a National Bank Examiner with the US Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), followed by 21 years in commercial banking, most recently as SVP with US Bank. Tony graduated from Washington State University in Finance/Economics and from the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. He is a board member of the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club, a member of the Eastside Business Roundtable and former member of the Bellevue Art Museum Board of Trustees. Tony is married and has two daughters.
Phil Mitterling

Phil has over twenty years of banking experience in finance, treasury, and operational functions. Most recently, Phil was First Vice President and Operational Risk Manager at Washington Mutual Bank. Phil began his career with Seafirst Bank and Bank of America, working there for sixteen years in various accounting, finance, and treasury functions. He left Bank of America as the Vice President and Senior Manager of the Seattle Office of Corporate Treasury. After Bank of America, Phil spent five years as Treasurer of EverTrust Financial Group. Phil has an MBA from the University of Washington.
